Michigan Area Prayer Chain

The Michigan Lutheran Marriage Encounter Prayer Chain prays for you, your family, your friends and your community. We are couples dedicated to this vital prayer ministry to uplift, encourage, and console each other.

We believe strongly in Intercessory Prayer and the power it unleashes in the Name of Christ.  In his article from the National Day of Prayer Task Force, John Bornschein writes:

“It is known as Intercessory Prayer when we spend focused time petitioning the Father for the needs of others. We have been given the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can cry out to Him in intercession for others. Intercessory Prayer is more than simply praying a few words on behalf of someone and then moving on to other requests, never praying for that person or concern again.  Intercession is pouring out our hearts for others, taking on the burden of those who are going through a trial.”

Sometimes the need is crystal clear, but often there are other deep-rooted issues that need to be addressed by the great  physician – God.  We believe the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14:  ”If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Remember, God is not limited to space and time. He hears our every word and knows the right time to respond. But we have to be diligent in the battle as we pray on the front lines. As James writes, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”  James  5:16

We have grown as a Marriage Encounter family and have witnessed first hand the awesome power of prayer. We extend an invitation to you to become members of the Michigan Lutheran Marriage Encounter Prayer Chain. Please prayerfully consider joining.

Some guiding principles for the Prayer Chain are:

  1. Prayer requests and questions are sent to Dave & Diana Mattlin via e-mail
    ddmatt@centurytel.net  or phone 989-673-6660.
  2.  We send out the prayer request, updates, or praise reports to our
Prayer Warriors via email usually the same day they are received.
  3. Members pray according to the Holy Spirit’s leading. There is no need
to respond back to us when you receive prayer requests.
  4. Emails could come anytime, any day. There may be times when it is a
week between prayer requests; then there could be a day when we send
    out multiple prayer concerns.
  5. Prayer requests are and remain confidential.

Thank you for prayerfully considering joining us on the Prayer Chain.
